Escape Room
This made for a good contraption because it was a puzzling challenge, and made people think outside the box. It was something unique and interesting that grabbed people's attention. In addition, it was designed nicely, and the colors were attractive to it's design. However, the fact that you had to remove the pieces uncovering the Vex robotics made it a bit less conspicuous that it was not Vex parts.
Castle Dragon
This was the best design (winning 1st place), because of how colorful and nice the design looked. No one from outside could know that the design is made from Vex parts. In addition, the competition aspect of it made the game more challenging, as players had to compete to get their horse to the middle first. In addition, randomly, when a light shined, then the first person to put their flag on the sensor gave the horse a boost, making the game unpredictable and intense. It challenged the players' skill and ability, to win.
Car Drag Strip
This game was highly successful last year at the expo. This is because of the the aesthetic used, along with that, I also was able to play the game and it was very fun yet challenging. I feel this game was good because it utilized a few key concepts such as, player vs player and bright, attractive, and nicely done user interface, as seen in the “driver's seat” In addition, it made you do different things as you play, adding a sight randomness to the game, and making it more intense.
